Add Wood Blocking To Reset A Toilet Flange
In this case, I add wood blocking as my first step to reset a toilet flange. This wood blocking adds additional support for the toilet flange mounting screws. Next, I re-drill the subfloor penetration.
I Add Spacers To Reset A Toilet Flange At The Proper Height
In this step, I add spacers under the toilet flange in order to raise it to the proper height. I take into account the thickness of the tile and the tile backer board. The bottom of the flange should be at the same height as the top of the finished floor. This allows for proper compression of the wax ring. A wax ring that is compressed too little or too much will have a significantly shorter life span. For this reason, it is important to take the proper steps to reset a toilet flange when you add tile to your bathroom floor.
